Crochet Soft Ribbed Pom-Pom Beanie Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in lavender
• Crochet hook size H/5mm
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Pompom maker

Gauge: 13 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch

Instructions:

Beanie Body

1. Start with a magic circle.
2. Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc here and throughout), 11 dc in the circle. Join with a sl st to top of ch-2. (12 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st. (24 dc)
4. Round 3: Ch 2, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st* repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st. (36 dc)
5. Round 4: Ch 2, *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st* repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st. (48 dc)
6. Round 5: Ch 2, *dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st* repeat from * to * around. Join with sl st. (60 dc)
7. Rounds 6-15: Ch 2, dc in each st around. Join with sl st. (60 dc)
8. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Ribbed Cuff

1. Row 1: Attach yarn to the edge, ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (7 sc)
2. Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in back loops only across. (7 sc)
3. Repeat Row 2 until the band fits around the beanie.
4. Join the last row of the band with the first using sl sts to form a loop.

Finishing

1. Fold the cuff up.
2. Make a pom-pom using the pompom maker, attach firmly to the top of the beanie.
