- Ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around, join. (16 sts)
- Ch 1, (hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st) rep around, join. (24 sts)
- Ch 1, (hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st) rep around, join. (32 sts)
- Ch 1, (hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st) rep around, join. (40 sts)
- Continue this pattern of increasing until you have 48 sts.
- Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join. Repeat this row until the beanie measures approximately 5 inches from the crown.
Brim
- Ch 1, sc in back loop only in each st around, join. This creates the ribbed effect.
- Repeat until the brim measures 1.25 inches.
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
Adding Buttons
- Using sewing needle and matching thread, sew on two wooden buttons at the base of the brim, spacing them evenly in the front center.
- Ensure buttons are securely attached.
