Crochet Scenic Mountain Landscape Blanket Free Pattern

Materials Needed

  • Worsted weight yarn in cream, brown, gray, various greens, and blue.
  • Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0mm).
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
  • Scissors.

Abbreviations

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • hdc: half double crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • tr: treble crochet
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • st(s): stitch(es)

Instructions

Base Waves

  1. Using blue yarn, ch 200.
  2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 2, *dc 4, 2 dc in next st, dc 4, dc2tog; repeat from * across. Turn.
  4. Repeat Row 2 for a total of 6 rows. Fasten off blue.

Green Hills

  1. Join dark green yarn to beginning of row.
  2. Row 1: Ch 2, *dc 3, 2 dc in next st, dc 3, dc2tog; repeat from * across. Turn.
  3. Continue pattern for 5 rows, changing shades of green every 2 rows for effect. Fasten off.

Mountains

  1. Join light gray yarn at beginning of row above hills.
  2. Row 1: Ch 2, *dc 2, 2 dc in next st, dc 2, dc2tog; repeat from * across. Turn.
  3. Repeat pattern changing to darker grays to form mountain peaks, working for 8 rows. Fasten off.

Sky

  1. Join cream yarn at the top of mountains.
  2. Ch 2, work dc in each st across for 6 rows to form sky. Fasten off.

Trees

  1. Using various green yarns, ch 10 for tree trunk and work sc in each ch. Attach vertically to green hill regions with sl st.
  2. Using green yarn, ch 5, sl st in next st, repeat to form tree branches, attaching row by row in decreasing order to form tree shape. Secure trees randomly over hill section.

Finishing

  • Weave in all ends with tapestry needle.
  • Block the blanket to measurements to enhance stitch definition.
