Crochet Beautiful Ombre Chevron Shawl Free Pattern

Materials Needed

  • Worsted weight yarn in ombre colors
  • 5.5mm crochet hook
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Stitches Used

  • Chain (ch)
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)
  • V-stitch (V-st): (dc, ch 1, dc)

Instructions

Foundation Row:

Start by chaining 4, sl st into the first chain to form a ring.

Row 1:

Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), (dc, ch 1, dc) into the ring (first V-st made), ch 1, dc into the ring. Turn your work.

Row 2:

Ch 4, V-st in the ch-1 space of first V-st, ch 1, V-st in the next ch-1 space, ch 1, dc in the top of turning chain. Turn.

Row 3:

Ch 4, V-st in each ch-1 space and in every V-st across, ending with ch 1, dc in top of turning chain. Turn.

Repeat Row 3:

Continue repeating Row 3, ensuring to maintain the chevron increases in each row to shape the triangular structure of the shawl. Change colors as desired to achieve the ombre effect.

Finishing:

Once the shawl reaches desired length, fasten off yarn, weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle.

Block the shawl to open up the lace pattern and to ensure the shape holds.
