Crochet Festive Whimsical Candy Cane Potholders Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in red, white, and green (or colors of your choice)
• H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Small amount of fiberfill for stuffing (optional)

Gauge:

4 DC = 4 inches in width (adjust hook size for correct gauge)

Abbreviations:

• CH: Chain
• DC: Double Crochet

Pattern:

Pattern for One Potholder (Make 2)

1. Base:
   1. With red yarn, CH 26.
   2. Row 1: DC in 4th CH from hook, DC in each CH across. (23 DC)
   3. Row 2: CH 2, turn. DC in each DC across.
   4. Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 8 inches long. (Approximately 12 rows total)
2. Striped Edge:
   1. Row 1: Change to white yarn. CH 1, SC in each DC to create a textured edge. Switch back to red yarn.
   2. Row 2: Repeat Row 1 using green yarn.
   3. Row 3: Repeat Row 1 using white yarn.
3. Loop:
