There’s something truly special about knitting accessories that feel like wearable art. The Geode Glimmer Fingerless Gloves and Boot Cuffs are exactly that—a modern, textured set that captures the raw, crystalline beauty of a geode. Using a clever combination of slipped stitches and bobbles, this free pattern creates a diamond and gemstone motif that is both cozy and sophisticated. Whether you’re a confident beginner looking to try something new or an experienced knitter seeking a quick, satisfying project, these accessories are the perfect way to add a touch of handcrafted luxury to your wardrobe.

Materials Needed

Before you begin, gather the following supplies. The pattern uses worsted weight yarn and US size 6 needles, making it a great stash-busting project.

  • Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (Category 4) in two colors:
    • Main Color (MC) - Deep Amethyst: Approx 200 yards for gloves, 150 yards for cuffs.
    • Contrast Color (CC) - Silver or Light Gray: Approx 100 yards for gloves, 80 yards for cuffs.
    • Sample uses Lion Brand Wool-Ease in 'Grape' and 'Silver Grey'.
  • Needles: US Size 6 (4.0 mm) knitting needles for small circumference (double-pointed needles or circular for magic loop), or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Notions: Stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn, tapestry needle for weaving ends.
  • Gauge: 20 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch, after blocking. Always check your gauge for the best fit.
