Fringe
- Cut 12-inch strands of black yarn. Prepare enough strands to attach to every other stitch on the last round of the tote.
- To attach fringe: Fold each strand in half, insert your hook into the stitch, pull up a loop, and then pull the ends of the strand through the loop. Tighten to secure.
Handles
- With black yarn, chain 60.
- Row 1: Sc in the second chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn your work.
- Row 2-4: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Turn your work.
- Fasten off and attach the handles to the inside of the tote, positioning them 3 inches from the edge on each side.
Finishing
- Weave in all ends using a tapestry needle to ensure a clean finish.
- If necessary, block the tote to shape it properly.
