- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- sk = skip
- st = stitch
Pattern Instructions:
Body of the Bag:
- Start with a foundation chain of 36 stitches.
- Row 1: sc in the second ch from hook, sc across (35 sc). Turn.
- Row 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), *dc in next st, sk 1 st, sc in next st; repeat from * across ending with a dc in the last st. Turn.
- Row 3: ch 1, *sc in first dc, dc in next sc; repeat from * across. Turn.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until the piece measures approximately 14 inches in height (or desired length).
Fold-Over Flap:
- Continue working the last stitch pattern for 10 more rows for the flap (you can adjust this length to preference).
Finishing:
- Fold the piece in half, matching the top of the flap with the end of the body.
- Join the sides using slip stitches or sc, leaving the top open.
