Materials
- Yarn: Fingering weight gradient yarn, 1000 yards
- Crochet Hook: G/4mm
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Finished Size
Approximately 64” wide by 32” deep.
Gauge
Gauge is not crucial for this project.
Instructions
- Set Up: Chain 5 and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
- Row 1: Chain 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), (dc, ch 2, dc) in ring, ch 1, dc in ring, turn.
- Row 2: Ch 4, dc in same st, ch 1, V-st (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch-2 sp, ch 1, (dc, ch 1, dc) in 3rd ch of ch 4, turn.
- Row 3: Ch 4, dc in same st, ch 1, [dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1] to center, V-st in ch-2 sp, ch 1, [dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1] to end, (dc, ch 1, dc) in 3rd ch of ch 4, turn.
- Repeat Row 3: Continue repeating Row 3, expanding the pattern until the piece measures approximately 32” deep from center top to bottom point.
- Finishing: Fasten off and weave in all ends neatly using a tapestry needle.
Edging
For an optional scalloped edging, attach yarn at any corner.
- Edging Round 1: Ch 1, sc evenly across the edge, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc.
- Fasten off: Weave in any remaining ends.
