Crochet Adorable Puppy Dog Afghan Blanket Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in cream, light brown, dark brown, white, and black
• Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Gauge:

14 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches in single crochet

Finished Size:

Approximately 50 x 60 inches

Instructions:

Base Blanket:

1. With cream yarn, ch 170.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (169 sts)
3. Rows 2-100: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Motif Placement:

Use tapestry technique to crochet the puppy, bones, and paw prints.

Puppy Dog:

1. Center on rows 40-60.
2. Use light brown for the body, dark brown for ears and spots, white for snout and chest, and black for eyes and nose.

Paw Prints & Bones:

• Place on corners of the blanket.
• Use dark brown for some paw prints and light brown for bones.

Border:

1. With dark brown yarn, join in any corner.
2. Rnd 1: Sc evenly around the entire blanket, placing 3 sc in each corner, join with sl st to first sc.
3. Rnd 2: With lighter brown yarn, ch 3 (counts as dc), *skip next st, sc in next, skip next st, 5 dc in next, repeat from * around, join with sl st in top of beginning ch 3.
