    • Pastel Green – 1 skein
    • Pastel Orange – 1 skein

  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors
  • Pom-pom maker (optional)

Gauge

14 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Abbreviations

  • CO – Cast On
  • K – Knit
  • P – Purl
  • K2tog – Knit two stitches together
  • St – Stitch
  • BO – Bind Off

Instructions

  1. Cast On: CO 72 stitches with cream yarn. Join in the round, being careful not to twist your stitches.
  2. Ribbing: Round 1: K1, P1 around. Repeat this round for 10 rows (or about 2 inches) to create the ribbed brim.
  3. Body of the Hat: Switch to stockinette stitch (knit all stitches) and begin adding the colored patterns:
    • Row 1-8: Knit all rows in cream.
    • Row 9-16: Alternate every 2 rows with beige and pastel green (2 rows of beige, 2 rows of pastel green).
    • Row 17-24: Alternate every 2 rows with pastel orange and cream (2 rows of pastel orange, 2 rows of cream).
  4. Decreasing for Top:
    • Round 1: K6, K2tog around (63 stitches).
    • Round 2: K5, K2tog around (54 stitches).
    • Round 3: K4, K2tog around (45 stitches).
    • Round 4: K3, K2tog around (36 stitches).
    • Round 5: K2, K2tog around (27 stitches).
    • Round 6: K1, K2tog around (18 stitches).
    • Round 7: K2tog around (9 stitches).
  5. Finish the Hat: Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail through the remaining stitches and pull tight to close. Secure the end and weave in any loose ends.
  6. Create the Pom-Pom: Make a pom-pom using the pom-pom maker or the wrap-and-cut method. Attach it to the top of the beanie with yarn or a needle. Trim to your desired size.

Your colorful beanie is complete! Enjoy your new warm accessory or gift it to a loved one.
