Simple Gray Knit Scarf Pattern
Materials
- Yarn: 2 skeins of medium worsted weight yarn in gray (approximately 200 yards)
- Knitting Needles: US size 8 (5mm)
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
Gauge
18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
Abbreviations
- CO: Cast on
- K: Knit
- P: Purl
- BO: Bind off
Instructions
- Cast On: CO 40 stitches.
- Row 1: (Right Side) K all stitches.
- Row 2: (Wrong Side) P all stitches.
- Row 3: Repeat Row 1.
- Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
- Continue in stockinette stitch (K all right-side rows, P all wrong-side rows) until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches or desired length.
- Bind Off: BO all stitches loosely to maintain elasticity.
- Cut the yarn, leaving a 6-inch tail.
- Using the tapestry needle, weave in all loose ends.
Block gently to shape, if desired. Your elegant gray scarf is now complete!
