  • Knitting needles size 6.0 mm (US 10)
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

10 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches in pattern

  • k - knit
  • p - purl
  • st(s) - stitch(es)
  • rs - right side
  • ws - wrong side

Pattern

Body

  1. Cast on 60 stitches.
  2. Row 1 (RS): *K1, P1; repeat from * to end.
  3. Row 2 (WS): *P1, K1; repeat from * to end.
  4. Repeat Rows 1-2 until piece measures approximately 14 inches from the cast-on edge.

Neck Shaping

  1. Continue in pattern, decreasing 1 st at each end every other row 4 times — 52 sts remain.
  2. Work 1 inch in the pattern without shaping.

Neck

  1. Work in 1x1 ribbing (knit 1, purl 1) for 4 inches.
  2. Bind off in pattern.

Finishing

  1. Fold the piece in half, with the right sides facing each other.
  2. Seam sides and bottom together using a yarn needle.
  3. Weave in all ends.
  4. Turn the cover right side out, and insert the hot water bottle.
