Soft Textured Multi-Stitch Crop Top

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted weight yarn (200 yards)
  • Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles
  • Stitch markers
  • Tapestry needle
  • Measuring tape

Gauge:

15 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Sizes:

This pattern is designed for sizes XS to XL. Please adjust final length based on personal preference.

Pattern Instructions:

Back Piece:

  1. Cast on 80 stitches.
  2. Work in ribbing (K1, P1) for 3 inches.
  3. Change to stockinette stitch and knit until piece measures 12 inches from cast on edge.
  4. Begin shaping armholes by binding off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows.
  5. Continue in stockinette until piece measures 16 inches from cast on edge.
  6. Bind off all stitches.

Front Piece:

  1. Cast on 80 stitches.
  2. Work in ribbing (K1, P1) for 3 inches.
  3. Change to multi-stitch pattern: *K4, P2, repeat from * to end of row.
  4. Knit in this pattern until piece measures 11 inches from cast on edge.
  5. Begin shaping armholes by binding off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows.
  6. When piece measures 15 inches, begin the neckline shaping.
  7. Bind off 16 stitches at the beginning of the next row for the neck and continue until the same length as the back piece.
  8. Bind off remaining stitches.

Assembly:

  1. Align and sew the shoulder seams together.
  2. Sew side seams, leaving armholes open.
  3. Weave in all ends with tapestry needle.

Finishing:

Block your crop top gently to set the stitches and enjoy your new handmade piece!
