Soft Textured Multi-Stitch Crop Top
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (200 yards)
- Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles
- Stitch markers
- Tapestry needle
- Measuring tape
Gauge:
15 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.
Sizes:
This pattern is designed for sizes XS to XL. Please adjust final length based on personal preference.
Pattern Instructions:
Back Piece:
- Cast on 80 stitches.
- Work in ribbing (K1, P1) for 3 inches.
- Change to stockinette stitch and knit until piece measures 12 inches from cast on edge.
- Begin shaping armholes by binding off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows.
- Continue in stockinette until piece measures 16 inches from cast on edge.
- Bind off all stitches.
Front Piece:
- Cast on 80 stitches.
- Work in ribbing (K1, P1) for 3 inches.
- Change to multi-stitch pattern: *K4, P2, repeat from * to end of row.
- Knit in this pattern until piece measures 11 inches from cast on edge.
- Begin shaping armholes by binding off 4 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows.
- When piece measures 15 inches, begin the neckline shaping.
- Bind off 16 stitches at the beginning of the next row for the neck and continue until the same length as the back piece.
- Bind off remaining stitches.
Assembly:
- Align and sew the shoulder seams together.
- Sew side seams, leaving armholes open.
- Weave in all ends with tapestry needle.
Finishing:
Block your crop top gently to set the stitches and enjoy your new handmade piece!
