Instructions

Knitted Body

  1. CO 200 stitches. You will be working back and forth in rows.
  2. Knit every row until the piece measures 45 inches from the cast-on edge for a square blanket.
  3. To ensure the edges don’t curl, finish with three rows of garter stitch (knit all rows).
  4. BO all stitches.

Crochet Lace Edging

With the crochet hook, begin around the edge of the blanket.

  1. Round 1: Single crochet evenly around the entire edge of the blanket. Make sure to keep the tension even, working 3 sc in each corner stitch.
  2. Round 2: (Ch 3, dc in next sc, ch 1) repeat around, join with sl st to top of initial ch 3.
  3. Round 3: (Ch 5, sc in the next ch space, ch 5, dc in next sc) repeat around, join with sl st to first ch of the round.
  4. Round 4: (Ch 3, 4 dc in the ch space, sc in next dc) repeat around, join with sl st to top of initial ch 3.

Fasten off, and use a tapestry needle to weave in all ends neatly.

Finishing

  1. Block the blanket to measurements to relax the stitches and open the lace pattern.
  2. Lay flat to dry.

Your elegant blanket is complete, ready to add a touch of grace to any space.
