Crochet Whimsical Lacy Leaf Scarf Free Pattern
Materials:
- Lightweight yarn (approximately 400 yards)
- 5.5 mm (I-9) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
Gauge: Not critical for this pattern, but approximately 4 DC = 1 inch.
Stitch Abbreviations:
- CH = Chain
- DC = Double Crochet
- TR = Treble Crochet
Pattern Notes:
- This pattern is worked from one end to the other, using a combination of lacy stitches and leaf motifs.
- Feel free to adjust the length by adding or subtracting rows.
Instructions:
- Start with a foundation chain of 40 CH.
- Row 1: In the 4th CH from the hook, work 1 DC. *Skip the next CH, work 5 DC in the following CH (this creates a leaf), skip 1 CH.* Repeat from * to * until 2 CH remain. DC in the last CH. Turn.
- Row 2: CH 3 (counts as 1 DC). In the same stitch, work 1 DC. *In the next chain space, work 5 DC, skip the next 2 DC where the leaf is, then work 2 DC into the next DC stitch.* Repeat from * to * until the last leaf. Work 2 DC in the top of the last DC. Turn.
- Row 3: CH 3, work 2 DC in the same stitch. *Skip the next 5 DC, work 5 DC in the next chain space for the leaf, skip the next 2 DC.* Repeat from * to * until the last leaf. Finish with 3 DC in the top of the last DC. Turn.
- Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until the scarf reaches your desired length, finishing with Row 2.
- Finish: Weave in all ends. Optionally, add a decorative border by single crocheting along the edges for a polished look.
