Crochet Warm Golden Sunbeam Lace Shawl Free Pattern

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:

  • 4 skeins of worsted weight yarn (preferably in a warm golden color)
  • 5.0 mm (H) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors

Gauge: 14 dc x 8 rows = 4" square

Finished Size: Approximately 60" long and 30" wide

Stitches Used:

  • Chain (ch)
  • Double Crochet (dc)
  • Chain 1 space (ch 1)
  • Slip Stitch (sl st)

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • dc = double crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch

Pattern:

Beginning:

Ch 81.

Row 1:

Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. (79 dc)

Row 2:

Ch 3 (counts as first dc), turn. Dc in next dc, ch 1, *sk next dc, dc in next 2 dc, ch 1; repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning ch. (39 shell stitches)

Row 3:

Ch 3, turn. Dc in first dc, *ch 1, shell in ch-1 space; repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning ch.

Row 4:

Ch 3, turn. Dc in first dc, *ch 1, dc in ch-1 space; repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning ch.

Repeat Rows 2-4

until the shawl reaches desired length, approximately 60 inches, ending with Row 3.

Edging:

Ch 1, turn to long edge of shawl. Sc evenly across, making sure to add 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc.

Finishing:

Fasten off and weave in ends.
