Vibrant Textured Ripple Scarf

Skill Level: Beginner

Materials:

• 2 skeins of medium weight yarn in multiple colors (choose 5 colors for the rippled effect)
• H/8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge: 14 stitches x 10 rows = 4 inches using ripple pattern (this can vary by yarn)

Pattern Instructions:

Starting Chain:

Chain 29.

Row 1:

In the 2nd chain from the hook, make a single crochet (sc). In the next chain, make a double crochet (dc). Repeat this alternating pattern (sc, dc) across the row. End with a single crochet in the last chain. Turn.

Row 2:

Chain 1, sc into the first stitch. In the next stitch, dc. Continue alternating sc and dc across the row, always ending with a sc. Change color every 5 rows or as desired. Turn.

Row 3:

Repeat Row 2.

Repeat Rows:

Continue this pattern until the scarf reaches your desired length (approximately 60 inches long). Finish with a row of single crochet to tidy the edges.

Finishing:

Weave in all loose ends using the tapestry needle. You may also add fringe at each end for an extra fun touch!
