Materials Needed
- Worsted weight yarn in orange, green, and black
- Crochet hook size G/4.0 mm
- Polyester stuffing
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- R: Round
- ch: Chain
- sc: Single crochet
- st: Stitch
- inc: Increase (2 sc in the next st)
- dec: Decrease (sc2tog)
Instructions
Orange Pumpkin Base
- R1: With orange yarn, make a magic ring, 6 sc in the ring (6 sts).
- R2: Inc in each st around (12 sts).
- R3: (Sc, inc) around (18 sts).
- R4: (2 sc, inc) around (24 sts).
- R5: (3 sc, inc) around (30 sts).
- R6: (4 sc, inc) around (36 sts).
- R7: (5 sc, inc) around (42 sts).
- R8-20: Sc in each st around (42 sts). Repeat for 13 rounds.
- R21: (5 sc, dec) around (36 sts).
- R22: (4 sc, dec) around (30 sts).
- R23: (3 sc, dec) around (24 sts).
- R24: (2 sc, dec) around (18 sts).
- R25: (Sc, dec) around (12 sts). Stuff the pumpkin firmly.
- R26: Dec around (6 sts). Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Green Stem
- R1: With green yarn, make a magic ring, 6 sc in the ring (6 sts).
- R2-8: Sc in each st around (6 sts). Repeat for 7 rounds.
- Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.
Face Details
Cut triangles and a mouth shape from black felt to form the face. Use hot glue or sew them onto the pumpkin base to create the Jack-O'-Lantern expression.
Finishing
Sew the stem securely onto the top center of the pumpkin. Weave in any remaining ends, and shape your pumpkin as desired.
