Materials Needed

• 4 hanks of worsted weight yarn (approximately 400 yards each, shown in four gradient shades of earth tones)

• Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

16 stitches = 4 inches in double crochet, adjusted as needed to achieve desired size.

One size; finished dimensions: approximately 60" wide and 30" long.

Pattern Instructions

1. Starting Chain: With CA, chain 120.
   Note: Start with a longer chain to allow for adjustments based on your desired width.
2. Row 1: In the 4th chain from the hook, work 1 double crochet (dc). Continue dc to the end of the row. Turn.
   (You should have 118 dc)
3. Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in the next st, skip 1 st, *dc in the next st, chain 1, skip 1 st; repeat from * across, ending with dc in the last 2 sts. Turn.
4. Row 3: Chain 3, dc in the next st and in each ch-1 space across. Turn.
5. Repeat Rows 2-3: Continue working in pattern, changing to CB after working 8 rows. Continue this process, changing to CC after 8 rows and finally to CD after another 8 rows. Your shawl will begin to show the gradient effect!
6. Fringe: Once you reach the desired length, cut lengths of yarn (approximately 12 inches each) and attach at the ends of your shawl. Create a new fringe every 4 stitches for a soft, boho look.

Finishing Instructions

Weave in all ends with the yarn needle. Gently block your shawl by wetting and laying it flat to dry for a polished finish.
