Soft Textured Autumn Wrap Around Hood

Materials Needed:

• Chunky weight yarn (approx. 300 yards)
• 9mm (M/N) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Measuring tape

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Puff stitch (puff)
• Slip stitch (sl st)

Pattern Instructions:

Base of the Hood

1. Chain 50 (or desired width for head opening).
2. Row 1: In the 2nd chain from hook, make 1 puff, *skip 2 chains, make 1 puff in the next chain; repeat from * until end, turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 1, make 1 puff in each puff across, turn.
4. Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures approximately 14 inches in height. Fasten off.

Brim of the Hood

1. Attach yarn to the bottom edge of the hood base.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, evenly space 1 sc around the entire edge, join with sl st to first sc.
3. Round 2: Ch 1, *1 sc in the first stitch, 1 puff in the next stitch; repeat from * around, join with sl st.
4. Round 3: Ch 1, repeat Round 2. Fasten off.

Finishing Touches

1. Weave in all ends securely.
2. If desired, add a button to the side for closure or embellishment.
