Crochet Simple Flower Appliques

Materials

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn in two colors: light blue/turquoise for petals, and orange for the center.
• Crochet Hook: Size G/4.0mm
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations

• ch: chain
• sl st: slip stitch
• sc: single crochet
• dc: double crochet
• st(s): stitch(es)
• rnd: round

Instructions

Flower Center

1. With orange yarn, create a slip knot and ch 5, sl st into first ch to form a ring.
2. Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 10 sc into the ring, join with sl st to the first sc. Fasten off and weave in the end.

Petals

1. Attach turquoise/light blue yarn to any sc.
2. Rnd 2: *Ch 3, dc in the same st, 2 dc in next st, ch 3, sl st in next st; repeat from * around to make 5 petals total, join with sl st to the first sl st of the round.
3. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Repeat the process to make multiple flowers as seen in the image. These are perfect for various embellishments and can be made in any color combination you prefer. Adjust yarn weight and hook size for different sizes of flowers.
