Ethereal Delicate Lace Wrap Free Pattern

Materials:

  • Lightweight lace yarn (approx. 400 yards)
  • Crochet hook size F (3.75 mm)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Gauge: 18 stitches and 10 rows = 4 inches in lace pattern. Adjust your hook size if necessary to meet gauge.

Finished Size: Approximately 60 inches wide and 30 inches long.

Stitches Used:

  • Chain (ch)
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Shell stitch (5 dc in one stitch)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)

Instructions:

  1. Foundation Chain: Ch 150.
  2. Row 1: Dc in 6th ch from hook, *skip 2 ch, shell stitch in next ch; repeat from * to end. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in the next stitch, *shell stitch in the top of the next shell, skip 2 dc; repeat from * to last shell, dc in top of last shell, turn.
  4. Row 3: Ch 3, dc in the next stitch, *shell stitch in next shell, skip 2 dc; repeat from * to end. Turn.
  5. Repeat Rows 2-3: Until piece measures approximately 30 inches from the beginning, ending with Row 2.
  6. Edging: For the last row, ch 1, and sc around the entire edge of the wrap, placing 3 sc in each corner to keep it flat. Fasten off.

Finishing:

Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle. Block the wrap to open up the lace and enhance the drape of the shawl.
