Materials Needed:
- Yarn: DK weight in beige, cream, brown, dark green, light green, coral, and salmon
- Crochet hook: Size G/4.0 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge:
16 sts and 20 rows = 4 inches in double crochet
Instructions:
Main Cowl:
- Foundation Chain: With beige, ch 80. Join with sl st to form a loop, being careful not to twist the chain.
- Round 1: Ch 2 (does not count as dc), dc in each ch around. Join with sl st to first dc. (80 dc)
- Round 2-10: Ch 2, dc in each st around. Join with sl st to first dc.
- Round 11: Change to cream, ch 2, dc in each st around. Join with sl st to first dc.
- Round 12: Ch 2, dc in each st around. Join with sl st to first dc.
- Round 13-14: Change to brown, ch 2, dc in each st around. Join with sl st to first dc.
- Round 15 (shell round): Ch 1, *sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st; rep from * around. Fasten off.
Floral Appliqués:
Large Flower:
- Centre: With salmon, make a magic ring, ch 1, 10 sc in ring. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
- Petals: Join coral, *ch 3, sl st in next sc; rep from * around. Fasten off.
Small Flower:
- With salmon, make a magic ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring. Join with sl st. Fasten off.
Leaves:
- With dark green, ch 10. Working along opposite side of the foundation chain, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last 2 ch, sl st to starting point. Fasten off.
Assembly:
- Using a tapestry needle, sew the flowers and leaves onto the cowl as arranged in the image.
- Weave in all loose ends.
Your elegant floral cowl is now ready to wear!
