Crochet Delicate Spring Breeze Lattice Scarf

Materials:

  • 1 skein of lightweight cotton yarn (approx. 250 yards)
  • 5.0 mm (H-8) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors

Gauge:

18 stitches and 9 rows = 4 inches in lattice stitch pattern.

Finished Dimensions:

Approximately 60 inches long and 8 inches wide.

Stitch Abbreviations:

  • CH = chain
  • SC = single crochet
  • DC = double crochet
  • SK = skip
  • SP = space

Pattern:

Foundation Row:

CH 40.

Row 1:

DC in 4th CH from hook (counts as first DC and 1 CH), *SK 2 CH, DC in next CH, CH 1; repeat from * across to last 2 CH, SK 1 CH, DC in last CH. Turn.

Row 2:

CH 3 (counts as first DC), *DC in next CH-1 SP, CH 1; repeat from * across to end, DC in top of turning CH. Turn.

Row 3:

CH 3, DC in next DC, *SK 1 DC, DC in CH-1 SP, CH 1; repeat from * across to last DC, SK 1 DC, DC in top of turning CH. Turn.

Repeat Rows 2-3:

Continue this pattern until the scarf is desired length, about 60 inches, or until yarn is nearly used up.

Edging:

In the last row, add a scalloped edge by making *(3 DC, CH 1, 3 DC) in every 5th stitch across. Fasten off.

Finishing:

Weave in any loose ends with a yarn needle. Block the scarf by wetting it and laying it flat to dry, shaping it to the desired dimensions.
