Crochet Cozy Oversized Olive Jacket Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Yarn: Chunky weight in olive green, approximately 1200-1500 yards
  • Crochet hook: Size K (6.5 mm)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch markers

Gauge:

8 sts and 6 rows = 4 inches in single crochet

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • st(s) = stitch(es)
  • sl st = slip stitch

Instructions:

Back Panel:

  1. Ch 70.
  2. Row 1: Sc in the second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. (69 sts)
  3. Rows 2-60: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Fasten off.

Front Panels (Make 2):

  1. Ch 36.
  2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. (35 sts)
  3. Rows 2-60: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Fasten off.

Sleeves (Make 2):

  1. Ch 40.
  2. Row 1: Dc in third ch from hook and each ch across, turn. (38 sts)
  3. Rows 2-30: Ch 2, dc in each st across, turn.

Fasten off.

Pockets (Make 2):

  1. Ch 20.
  2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and each ch across, turn. (19 sts)
  3. Rows 2-14: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.

Fasten off.

Assembly:

  1. With right sides together, sew the shoulder seams of the front panels to the back panel. Leave about 6 inches on each side for neck opening.
  2. Sew the sleeves to the body, align the center of the sleeve with the shoulder seam.
  3. Sew the underarm and side seams of the jacket.
  4. Attach pockets at the front panels, approximately 2 inches from the bottom and 2 inches from the sides.

Edging:

  1. Join yarn at the bottom corner of the jacket opening. Sc evenly around the entire opening, including the neck, to create a neat edge.
  2. Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Turn up the cuffs of the sleeves for a finished look. Your jacket is now ready to be worn!
