Materials:

• 150g of Medium Weight Yarn in three contrasting colors (A, B, C)
• Size H/8 (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge:

4 stitches and 4 rows = 2 inches in the textured stitch pattern.

Abbreviations:

ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
sts = stitches
YO = yarn over

Instructions:

Base

1. With Color A, ch 30. 2. Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (29 sc). 3. Row 2: ch 1, turn. *YO, insert hook into the next st, pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops*. Repeat from * to * across (29 sts). 4. Repeat Row 2 until the base measures 12 inches long. Fasten off.

Body

1. Attach Color B to any corner of the base. 2. Ch 1, sc evenly around the perimeter of the base (approximately 29 sc along each side, with 3 sc in each corner). 3. Begin working in rounds: - Round 1: *sc in first st, YO, sc in next st*; repeat around. - Round 2: Change to Color C and sc in each st around. - Repeat Rounds 1 & 2 until the body of the bag measures approximately 10 inches tall.

Handles

1. Turn the bag inside out. On one side of the bag, count 9 stitches from the left side and mark this st. Count 9 stitches from the right side and mark the spot. 2. Attach Color A at the left mark. 3. Ch 16 to create the handle, sl st into the marked st on the right side. 4. Fasten off. 5. Repeat for the second handle on the opposite side of the bag.

Finishing
