Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in gray for the bunny and green for the hat
• 3.5mm crochet hook
• 4.0mm knitting needles
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Stitch marker
• Tapestry needle
• Black embroidery thread for face details
• 10mm safety eyes

Gauge

10 sc and 11 rows = 2 inches for bunny (exact gauge is not critical).

Instructions

Crochet Bunny

Head and Body

1. Ch 2, work 6 sc into the first ch. (6 sts)
2. Rnd 1: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
3. Rnd 2: (Sc in next st, inc) around. (18 sts)
4. Rnd 3: (Sc in next 2 sts, inc) around. (24 sts)
5. Continue in this fashion until you have 42 sts.
6. Rnds 7-14: Sc in each st around.
7. Rnd 15: (Sc in next 5 sts, dec) around. (36 sts)
8. Rnd 16: (Sc in next 4 sts, dec) around. (30 sts)
9. Rnd 17: (Sc in next 3 sts, dec) around. (24 sts), place safety eyes between Rnds 8 and 9, about 8 sts apart.
10. Stuff head firmly.
11. Continue decreasing until closed, fastening off and weaving in ends.

Ears (Make 2)

1. Ch 2, 5 sc in first ch. (5 sts)
2. Rnds 1-3: Sc in each st.
3. Rnd 4: (Sc in next st, inc) around. (7 sts)
4. Rnds 5-18: Sc in each st around.
5. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew to sides of head.

Face

Use black thread to embroider a nose and a simple mouth between the lips. Place nose one row above the last, in the center.

Knitted Hat

1. With green yarn and knitting needles, cast on 36 sts.
2. Rows 1-5: *K1, p1* across.
3. Rows 6-12: Knit in stockinette stitch (alternate knit and purl rows).
4. Row 13: *K2tog* across. (18 sts)
5. Row 14: Purl across.
6. Row 15: *K2tog* across. (9 sts)
7. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail, and thread through remaining sts. Pull tightly to close top.
8. Seam sides of hat and secure it on the bunny's head.

Finishing

Stuff the body with fiberfill. Use tail ends to sew each part securely, making sure the face and ears are positioned correctly. Weave in all ends.
