  • Pom-pom maker or yarn for pom-pom
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

Abbreviations

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch

Instructions

Sleep Sack

  1. Start by making a foundation chain of 60 stitches.
  2. Row 1: In the 4th chain from the hook, make 1 dc. Continue to make 1 dc in each chain across. You should have 58 dc. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), do 1 dc in next dc and each dc across. Turn.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures approximately 60 cm in length.
  5. Next, create armholes: Fold the piece in half to find the center. Count 15 stitches from either side and mark those stitches. Ch 1, sc in each of the 15 stitches on each side for 2 rows.
  6. Once you've completed the armholes, continue working in rows, increasing 1 dc on each side for 8 more rows.
  7. Now, for the closure: Make a flap by sc back and forth on the last 10 rows (repeat 2 rows of sc). You can secure with buttons later.
  8. Finish off the yarn and weave in all loose ends.

Hat

  1. Start with a magic ring and ch 2.
  2. Round 1: Make 12 dc in the magic ring. Join with a sl st to the top of the ch 2. (12 stitches)
  3. Round 2: Ch 2, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in each stitch around. Join. (24 stitches)
  4. Round 3: Ch 2, *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch; repeat from * around. Join. (36 stitches)
  5. Continue increasing until the hat measures about 20 cm in diameter, then work without increases for an additional 10 cm for the hat body.
  6. To create the pointy top, decrease by dc in each round until you reach the top.
  7. Add a pom-pom to the tip of the hat.
  8. Finish off the yarn and weave in the ends.

Assembly

  1. Attach the buttons to the flap of the sleep sack and the corresponding areas on the opposite side to create a secure closure.
  2. You're all done! Dress your baby in the sleep sack and hat for a cozy and cute look!
