Creating the Lace Pattern:

Continue the following pattern:

  • Ch 3, *dc in next dc, ch 2, skip next 2 dc; repeat from * around, join.
  • Each subsequent round increases the number of dc’s before the ch 2 space. For example, Round 9: Ch 3, dc in next 6 dc, ch 2, skip 2; repeat. Round 10: Ch 3, dc in next 7 dc, ch 2, skip 2; repeat.

Repeat until desired size:

Keep repeating the lace pattern and your increases until your shawl reaches the desired diameter (approximately 36-48 inches).

Finishing:

Fasten off, weave in ends. Block shawl to open the lace pattern fully.

Optional Edging:

For an added touch, work a simple scalloped edge: single crochet into each dc, then create scallops with *5 dc in next st, slip stitch in next st; repeat from * around.

Care Instructions:

Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry.

Enjoy your lovely breezy shawl!
