Airy Delicate Lace Bloom Scarf Free Pattern

Materials:

  • Fingering weight yarn (approx. 200 yards)
  • 3.5 mm (E) crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge: 20 stitches and 12 rows = 4 inches in lace pattern (blocking may be necessary).

Finished Dimensions: 7 inches wide and 60 inches long (after blocking).

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • dc: double crochet
  • sk: skip
  • sp: space
  • tr: treble crochet

Notes:

This scarf is worked in rows and features lace patterns that repeat. You may adjust the length by adding or subtracting rows as desired.

Pattern Instructions:

Foundation Row:

Ch 30.

Row 1:

1 dc in 4th ch from hook, *ch 2, sk 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch; repeat from * across to last 2 ch, ch 1, 1 dc in last ch. (You should have 14 dc and 14 ch-2 spaces.)

Row 2:

Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, *ch 2, 1 tr in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, 1 dc in next dc; repeat from * across to last ch-2 space, ch 1, 1 dc in top of turning ch.

Row 3:

Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and ch 1), turn, *1 dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 ch, 1 dc in next dc; repeat from * across to last dc, ch 1, 1 dc in top of turning ch.

Row 4:

Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn, *ch 2, 1 tr in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, 1 dc in next dc; repeat from * across, finish with ch 1 and 1 dc in top of turning ch.

Repeat Rows 2-4:

Continue repeating Rows 2-4 until scarf reaches desired length or you have approximately 200 yards used.

Edging:

For a delicate finish, sc across the top and bottom edges of the scarf. Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Finishing:

Block your scarf to enhance the lace pattern. Lay flat and arrange to set the lace design.
