Colorful Crochet Granny Stripe Blanket
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in five colors (Coral, Pink, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Mint Green)
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
- Pair of scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge
16 stitches and 10 rows = 4 inches in Granny Stripe pattern.
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- sp = space
Instructions
Starting Row
- Choose your starting color (Coral).
- Ch 56 (or multiple of 6 for wider blanket).
Row 1
- In the 4th ch from hook, dc. This counts as 1 dc + ch 1.
- Skip 2 ch, *dc in next ch, ch 1; repeat from * across row until 2 ch remain. Dc in the last ch. Turn.
Row 2
- Ch 3 (this counts as your first dc). In the first sp, dc, ch 1, dc.
- *In next sp, dc, ch 1, dc; repeat from * across row until last sp. In last ch, dc to finish the row. Turn.
- Change color to Pink at the end of this row.
Row 3
- Ch 3, dc in first sp, ch 1, dc in same sp.
- *In next sp, dc, ch 1, dc; repeat from * across row until last sp. In last ch, dc to finish. Turn.
- Change color to Light Blue at the end of this row.
Row 4
- Repeat Row 3 and change color to Dark Blue.
Row 5
- Repeat Row 3 and change color to Mint Green.
Continue Pattern
- Continue repeating Rows 3 through 5, changing colors as desired.
- Work until the blanket reaches your desired length (approximately 60 inches is recommended).
Finishing
- After reaching the desired length, fasten off and weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
- Gently block your blanket if desired to even out the stitches.
Care Instructions
Machine wash gentle cycle, tumble dry low. Do not bleach.
