Instructions
Preparing the Fabric Scraps
- Cut your fabric scraps into strips approximately 1-2 inches wide.
- Join the strips by tying them together securely to create a long strand.
Crocheting the Rug
- Foundation Ring: Create a slip knot and chain 5. Join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
- Round 1: ch 1, work 8 sc into the ring. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc. (8 sts)
- Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each st around. Join with a slip stitch. (16 sts)
- Round 3: ch 1, sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next st, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* repeat until end of round. Join with a slip stitch. (24 sts)
- Round 4: ch 1, sc in the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the next st, *sc in the next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat until end. Join with a slip stitch. (32 sts)
- Round 5: ch 1, sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc in the next st, *sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st* repeat until end. Join with a slip stitch. (40 sts)
- Continue in this manner, increasing the number of single crochets between increases by one in each round (i.e., 4 sc, 2 sc in next, 5 sc, 2 sc in next, etc.) until the rug reaches your desired diameter.
Finishing
- Fasten off the fabric scrap yarn.
- Weave in any loose ends and trim any excess fabric for a clean look.
