Crochet Whimsical Textured Petal Bunting Free Pattern

Materials:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in three colors
• G/6 (4.0 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Measuring tape

Gauge:

Gauge is not critical for this project, but aim for 4 inches square equals about 15 double crochets in pattern.

Instructions:

Petal Motif:

1. Start with a magic ring.
2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc into the ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)
3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st. *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (18 dc)
4. Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same st. *Ch 3, skip next st, sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (9 petals)

Triangle Panel:

1. Ch 5, form a ring with a sl st in the first ch.
2. Row 1: Ch 3, dc into the ring 2 times, ch 2, dc 3 more times into the ring. (Total of 6 dc)
3. Row 2: Ch 3, turn. *Dc in next dc, ch 1; repeat from * across. Join with sl st. (3 ch-1 spaces)
4. Row 3: Ch 3, turn. Dc in first st, *ch 1, dc in next ch-1 space; repeat from * to last st. Dc in top of ch 3. (Total of 4 dc)
5. Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until the triangle reaches your desired height (approximately 6-8 inches).

Assembly:

1. Create 5 petal motifs and 4 triangle panels.
2. Using the yarn tail from the petal motifs, attach each petal to the top of the triangle panels by stitching across the straight edge.
3. Space them evenly along a long chain made from your chosen yarn for the bunting.
4. Finish by weaving in all ends securely and hanging your beautiful creation!
