Crochet Beach Set Pattern

Materials

• Worsted weight cotton yarn (approximately 300-400 yards in a sandy beige color)
• 4mm crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tape measure
• Yarn needle

Gauge

15 stitches = 4 inches in double crochet.

Abbreviations

• ch = chain
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• sc = single crochet

Instructions

Halter-Top

1. Start with a slip knot and chain 32.
2. Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each ch across (30 dc). Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 3, dc in the next dc, *ch 1, skip 1 dc, dc in the next dc; repeat from * across (15 dc, 15 ch-1 spaces). Turn.
4. Row 3: Ch 3, *dc in the ch-1 space, ch 1; repeat from * across. Turn.
5. Rows 4-10: Repeat Row 3 for a total of 7 rows. Your top should now measure approximately 10 inches in height.
6. Row 11: Ch 1, sc across to create a finished edge. Fasten off.
7. Repeat all the steps for a second piece (this will be the back of the halter-top).
8. Once you have both pieces, align them and sew together around the edges, leaving the top open. Cut two strands of yarn, approximately 40 inches long, for the ties. Thread through the top corners to create neck ties.

Skirt

1. Start with a slip knot and chain 72.
2. Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each ch across (70 dc). Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 3, *ch 1, skip 1 dc, dc in the next dc; repeat from * across (35 dc, 35 ch-1 spaces). Turn.
4. Row 3: Ch 3, dc in each ch-1 space, ch 1 across (total of 70 stitches). Turn.
5. Rows 4-16: Repeat Row 3 until the skirt reaches approximately 20 inches in length or desired length.
6. Row 17: Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch-1 space for a finished edge. Fasten off.
7. Create a tie by cutting a long strand (around 60 inches) of yarn, threading it through the top of the skirt, allowing you to adjust the fit.

Finishing Touches
