Chunky Knit Infinity Scarf

This easy-to-knit infinity scarf is perfect for beginners looking to create a warm accessory. Made with super bulky yarn, it will keep you cozy during the colder months. The beautiful texture adds style to any outfit making it an ideal gift!

Materials:

  • Super Bulky Yarn (approximately 200 yards) - choose a solid or heathered beige color
  • Knitting Needles: Size 15 (10 mm) circular needles, 24 inches long
  • Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
  • Scissors

Gauge:

12 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Abbreviations:

  • CO - Cast On
  • K - Knit
  • P - Purl
  • RS - Right Side
  • WS - Wrong Side
  • St(s) - Stitch(es)

Instructions:

  1. Cast On: Begin by casting on 60 stitches (or adjust for desired width). Make sure your stitches are not too tight as this will affect your final scarf width.
  2. Row 1: Knit every stitch across the row. (60 stitches)
  3. Row 2: Purl every stitch across the row. (60 stitches)
  4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches or your desired length. This stitch pattern will create a stretchy fabric that's easy to wear.
  5. Bind Off: Once your scarf reaches the desired length, bind off your stitches in a loosely manner to ensure the edge does not become tight.
  6. Finishing: Cut the yarn, leaving a tail of about 6 inches. Use your tapestry needle to weave in any loose ends securely. Ensure to do this on both ends.
  7. Create Infinity Loop: To make it an infinity scarf, join the two ends together by sewing them with the tapestry needle or by holding them together and casting off directly, ensuring a smooth finish.

Your chunky knit infinity scarf is now complete! Wear it wrapped around your neck or over your shoulders for added warmth and style!
